7th Border Regiment War Grave Project

Postby spike » Thu Jun 09, 2011 1:49 pm

After much work (and much still to do) I have launched a new War Grave Project on the
7th (Service) Battalion, Border Regiment and (as you will see why later) the
7th (Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry) Battalion, Border Regiment.
The project is online now :-

HERE-7th Border War Grave Project

The site is still under construction and when I get the history online it will explain how the 7th W&C Yeomanry
were amalgamated into the 7th Battalion in 1917, hence the crossover.
I hope some of the readers on here will take a look and maybe submit some pictures if the graves are in their locale,
(as some already have).
Also, if anyone has pictures or info on the 7th Battalion, they would be willing to share I would be most grateful.....

Spike

I am in the process already of checking out several Officer casualties suggested by the BR in the Great War
and putting online the pictures I already have, as well as typing out the history page which at present is on
about 10 A4 sheets.

Here is a map showing the cemeteries (so far) in which the men of the 7th are buried/ commemorated

7th Border Cemeteries Map

Many thanks to Chris and Kerry, without whose work on converting the wordpad files listing burials into excel
spreadsheets which I could then adapt to my system, has enabled me to bring the project online much quicker
than I anticipated......

Good luck with this latest venture Spike,
I don't have any trips planned at the moment but will check in with you and your list before any visits that I manage to wangle!
Regards,
Scottie.
