Just a few pix from my Somme centenary trip ( and Ypres).
All photos taken on a Nikon compact camera I bought from e bay for £30 - you don't need to have "posh" camera stuff! if you know what you are doing!

I love the way that through the passage of time (and the grounds being well looked after) these long ago purpose-built trenches are now serene but still show clear and visible signs of a bygone era.
In memory of John Bardgett (15309 L/Cpl.), 11th Border Regiment who died 1st July 1916.
