Hello and a very warm welcome to the Border Regiment Forum.

This forum has been put together so that people with an interest in the Border Regiment has a place to discuss anything relating to the regiment throughout it's long history and colourful. You can also use the forum to ask other members about research and the best places to start looking for your relative, even if he only served in the regiment for a short while. We don't hold army records here but we do, however, try to add as much information as we can when other members ask regarding relatives who served. Several members are quite knowledgeable and hold some records (or have access to records such as those at Ancestry.co.uk) and therefore, might be able to help you.

Don't be shy, the best way to find out is to ask. We also like it when other requests are answered or if people add their own information. This is an ongoing project and all useful information is always welcome.

  • It is important you read and understand the Forum Rules. It would be helpful to us to know you have read these rules as they tell you what you can and can't do on this site.
  • Please find some time to Introduce Yourself with just a few words about you and your interests. Please do post your requests there.
  • If you are unsure or are a little worried about making your first proper post, why not try the Test Drive area. It doesn't matter if you make a mistake there, just try again......it's perfectly safe and won't interfere with the rest of the site.

Please try to post in the correct forum that your request and/or information relates to.

Happy posting!
