Another great collection there Ian! I find these photos fascinating, to see what these guys were doing over 50 years ago is a real gem.

The tank exercises are superb; staring at the image long enough I could almost place myself there with the noise and smell of fumes. I love the group photos again and the odd one or two where one of the guys just seems to be sitting there on his own minding his own business then his all of a sudden his buddy comes along behind him and surprises him him a quick snap shot.

Timeless snippets of life :-)

MichaelR very kindly passed a few photos on to me for adding to the forum. In his words: if you can use the attached pictures on the Forum please feel free to do so, my friend sent me the pictures but I know that some came from a friend of his, this is a result of old soldiers getting in touch after a lot of years and swapping photos of their time together with the Regiment.
A great sentiment, friends after many years getting in touch again and catching up on old times and ultimately swapping photos of their times in the Regiment. I bet there are some great stories to tell!! ;-)

Michael, who are the guys in the photos? (or is anonymity preferred?)

Thanks to MichaelR for the following images:

If the building in the "wreck" background is in the barracks, I wonder if it could be the building where us kids used to go roller-skating. It was a large open area inside with a smooth solid floor.

If it is the same building, what was it used for (apart from roller-skating)?

Not sure. I don't remember it being used for anything else. There was no equipment etc inside. It could have been a gymnasium or similar at some time I suppose.
There was also a cinema (called Kinema) in the barracks that showed English language films, but I don't have any photos of it.

A building like that would have been perfect as a motor pool.
