1-10th - The Battalion was employed during this period on work in connection with railway construction. 2 Lieuts N Ellis and H J B Warren joined the Battn on 1/6/16. 2 Lieut E W Shaw joined the Battn on 2/6/16.
11th – The Battalion proceeded to trenches in B2 subsector relieving 1st Bn South Stafford Regt. A Draft of 16 Other Ranks joined the Battalion on 11/6/16.
12-18th – In trenches ( Casualties 4 killed 9 wounded) [BLYTHE, FREDERICK Private 21989 Died 12/06/1916 Age: 27 CORBIE COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION Son of John and Eleanor Blythe, of 50, Corporation Road, Carlisle; husband of Mary Anne Blythe, of 3, Dunn's Court, St. John Street, Botchergate, Carlisle. DENT, H E. Private 6412 Died 16/06/1916 Age: 36 CITADEL NEW MILITARY CEMETERY, FRICOURT Son of William and Selina Dent, of Birmingham; husband of Susan Mary Dent, of 35, Fifth Avenue, Bordesley Green, Birmingham. SWORD, W. Private 21243 Died 16/06/1916 CITADEL NEW MILITARY CEMETERY, FRICOURT. These are links to my old wiki, which I could no longer maintain. My new "on this day" project won't be including batches of war diary extracts only a few war diary appendices. I do, however, maintain that version of the wiki on my home computer so I can provide you with transcribed copies of those two months if you wish.
