Hi,
I have this postcard from a (sadly) unknown 4th Bn soldier called "Arthur" on the Deseado posted from Southampton on 28th October 1914 to a Miss Pauline Garner of Preston - his sweetheart or sister I guess? .(I cannot find her on 1911 census)
Do you know which newspaper your cutting is from? Also would it be possible for you to post on the forum (or e-mail to me) a better quality image of the group picture and the envelope please?- I have a particular interest in the 4th Battalion, (see my reply to your other post.)

Yes I will get you a good copy of that picture, I will scan it in at work (Because my camera isn't
great)

There are several newspaper cuttings, one is the Cumberland newspaper dated 15th August 1964.
