Appleby Men 2nd Vol Bn - named photos

A couple of interesting photos of Appleby men from the 2nd Vol Bn Border Regiment on this site.........and the men are named!

Hope you find them as fascinating as I do.

They mention Pte Atkinson as a possible casualty of the war so not in the second image and he does appear on the Cathedral Boer War Memorial.

This is a great find! I'm particularly interested in Appleby as this is where my grandparents and great grandparents lived. Do you recognise the background location?
In memory of John Bardgett (15309 L/Cpl.), 11th Border Regiment who died 1st July 1916.

Unfortunately I don't know the location as I only ever went to Appleby to play rugby when at school!

Hopefully there are a few more photographic gems like this out there.
