Have just seen this on the WW2 forum i am a member off and it is from the historian Paul Reed

"This new Channel 5 series about WW1 archaeology will be transmitted at 8pm on 8th and 15th November."

I didn't know about this series, don't really watch much tv. Just had a look on 5 Demand, will try and watch these during the week.
In memory of John Bardgett (15309 L/Cpl.), 11th Border Regiment who died 1st July 1916.

I saw both episodes. Both interesting,but the second one is the best when they actually send a camera down into the flooded tunnel. Also great footage of remarkably well preserved underground woodwork. (So, I ask myself why on earth do my garden fence posts rot where they are hammered into the ground, regardless of what modern preservatives I use?!!. Seriously, perhaps it's the lack of oxygen in the sealed tunnels? - any scientists out there?) Paul
