Newspaper cutting images in gallery

Postby kerchi » Wed Aug 01, 2012 11:05 pm

Just to let you know I have been uploading newspaper cuttings collected by Denis Otter who kindly passed these on to me for inclusion on the wiki and here on the forum. The images include small articles (missing, p.o.w., k.i.a., obituaries etc.) and photos of soldiers of the various battalions of the regiment.

They are listed exactly as Denis has titled them: by surname, then first name/s and or initials followed by which battalion (1BorderR etc.) followed by which newspaper and date published. Some cuttings might have a soldier's service number included in the image title and some may not include either the regiment or newspaper it was published in.

You will notice a few repetitions mainly in the form of soldiers' photos, usually the same image of the individual in his uniform (sometimes in his civvies) used by different newspapers.

You can check out the gallery here

If you have any photos of any type of newspaper article or cutting of an obituary or photo, please feel free to add them to this collection ;-)
In memory of John Bardgett (15309 L/Cpl.), 11th Border Regiment who died 1st July 1916.
