LOCAL CASUALTIES - KILLED

Mr. and Mrs. Rutherford, 1a Wilson-street, have been officially notified that their son, Private G. Rutherford, 15496, Border Regt., who has been posted as missing since July 1st 1916, is now presumed to have died on that date. Deceased, a fine young man 21 years of age, was employed at the coke ovens before joining the Army; he was very well known – all the family are – and highly respected. Three other brothers are in active service in France.
