possible goodbye

Postby plbramham » Wed Jan 08, 2014 11:17 pm

Hello guys,

Don't mean to upset you, but being a realist, my cancer has taken a bad turn.
I am about to start "experimental facial/dental surgery"

I know we have never met, but I have appreciated your "on-line" friendship and support.

I continue to battle for the "underdog". Indeed I made myself rather unpopular at Kendal Town Council the other night ( I think you know I am an unpaid voluntary councillor) when I stood up for Kendal patients having to go for treatment at Preston ( 120 mile round trip)) and the appalling lack of public transport in this area. I really think the party will not select me as a candidate next year when I come up for re-election, as I fight for the people who vote for me, and do not simply " Toe the party line".

The IRA did not get me in Northern Ireland, nor did the, (being PC here) "elements" in Bosnia, so you can guess, I'm going down fighting.

Be assured that my Border collection is willed to the museum at Carlisle should the worst happen.

Anyway thanks folks.

Hopefully not good bye,

Cheers Paul

Paul, mate
My thoughts are with you
If I believed, so too would my prayers be......
You can't relate to a superhero, to a superman, but you can identify with a real man who in times of crisis draws forth some extraordinary quality from within himself and triumphs but only after a struggle.

Don’t worry folks I'm still here!
Rather busy with Preston hospital trips plus the Kendal WW1 commemoration exhibition. I've also been asked to help with the Helsington church centenary project (tiny chapel near Kendal see viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2007&p=4984&hilit=helsington#p4984 ) - as well as other sources, I've pointed them in the direction of the forum for possible background!

Paul,
Despite your illness it seems you are still keeping rather busy mate!

Lovely gesture with your collection to the museum, hopefully that will not be happening for a while!
Best wishes,
Laters,
Scottie.
