APPLEBY RIFLE VOLUNTEERS

On Friday evening, the B. Company of the 2nd (Westmorland) Volunteer Battalion Border Regiment, in full form, passed a very successful inspection by Adjutant Andrews the Broad Close. The company was under the command Captain and Lieut. Bell and Sergt-Instructor Pritchard were also present. The "new attack," in its various ramifications, formed the principal feature in the evolutions, and both officers and men, who were kept in active motion for the best part two hours, acquitted themselves with much satisfaction to the inspecting officer and the assembled onlookers.
