Reported Wounded

Mr. Robert Blair, of Moss Bay, who is anxious about his son, Private Harry Blair, not having heard from him for nearly a month, wrote the War Office, and received a reply that they had no information as to any casualty. Mr. Blair then wrote to the Rev. A.J.W. Crosse, Chaplain, who replies:

“ Dear Mr. Blair, - “I wish I could give you more definite news about your son Harry. All we know is that he was reported wounded, and he is missing. He may have been among those bravest ones who advanced so far into the German lines that they fell when their bodies could not be recovered; but if any further news should come to me I will let you know at once. I sympathise deeply with you in the loss of a very fine lad.”

Mr. and Mrs. George McAdam, Corporation-road, have received official notice that their son, Private J. McAdam (13917), has been posted as missing since 1st July.

Official word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Rutherford, Wilson-street, that their son, Private George Rutherford (15496) is posted as wounded and missing since July 1st
